Dr Martin Robinson

MBBS FRACP
Consultant Neurologist

Dr Martin Robinson graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1982. He completed physician training at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He then worked at the Prince of Wales and Prince Henry Hospitals in Sydney, NSW, before undertaking a stroke fellowship at Bowmann Gray School of Medicine in Winston Salem, NC, USA. He then worked at the University of Wales School of Medicine in Cardiff, UK in the Welsh Epilepsy Unit run by Professor Alan Richens. On return to Adelaide in 1991, he commenced work as a consultant neurologist at TQEH where he has remained ever since, being director of the department from 2000- 2015. He is currently a consultant neurologist at Central Adelaide Local Health Network across both TQEH and RAH campuses and works additionally in private at Western Neurology. He has been involved in numerous trials of novel anti-epileptic drugs and maintains subspeciality interests across the fields of epilepsy, stroke and multiple sclerosis.

Dr YiZhong Zhuang

BSc BMBS(Hons) FRACP

YiZhong "Zhong" Zhuang was awarded his medical degree by Flinders University in 2010 graduating with honours.  After completing his internship at Flinders Medical Centre, he underwent physician training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH), with advanced training in neurology at the Queen Elizabeth and Royal Adelaide Hospitals, including a Movement Disorders Fellowship under Prof. Philip Thompson, A/Prof. Thomas Kimber and Dr. Shav Parasivam.  He has experience in advanced therapies for Parkinson's disease including deep brain stimulation, levodopa/carbidopa intestinal gel, and apomorphine infusion.  He has experience in the use of botulinum toxin for treatment of neurological conditions.  He has been involved in numerous clinical trials for memory disorders and stroke, as well as movement disorders. Zhong is currently a consultant neurologist at Flinders Medical Centre and continues to be involved in clinical research at the RAH.  He has broad interests including movement disorders, epilepsy, headache, functional neurological disorders, stroke, behavioral neurology, multiple sclerosis, as well as general internal medicine and preventative healthcare.

Dr Jessica Hafner

Consultant Neurologist

Dr Jessica Hafner graduated from University of Sydney Graduate Medical Program in 2006. She completed her physician training in Sydney, NSW, prior to moving to Adelaide for her neurology training at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She returned to Sydney to complete a Neurophysiology Clinical and Research Fellowship at Royal North Shore Hospital, St Leonards, NSW in 2013. Since then she has worked as a consultant neurologist in Central Adelaide Local Health Network at both The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and The Royal Adelaide Hospitals. She is a clinical lecturer at The University of Adelaide and supervises neurology advanced trainees and a neurophysiology fellow. She has a special interest in peripheral neuropathy, including complex nerve conduction studies and electromyography, and has published papers on neurophysiological techniques including thermal threshold testing and axonal excitability studies. She is currently providing nerve conduction and EMG services at Western Neurology on Monday mornings only.
